The Red Deer almost disappeared from the Swiss Jura massif at the beginning of the 20th century. This research project (following a previous one called: Projet INTERREG IIIa) is a French-Swiss collaboration that aims to follow the recolonization of the Red Deer in the area. The study focuses on: To increase the knowledge of the Red Deer populations in the massif; To define the damages in the forests, to manage the populations and to experiment techniques for the environment to become less vulnerable; To communicate with the management platform and to train professionals; To inform the general public on the presence of the species.
