Description
to collect data on the number of shot birds in a year
A nationwide survey of 5,000 (5%) randomly selected BASC members are sent an annual questionnaire requesting information on the species and number of birds shot. About 30% of those sent questionnaires respond, and a further 20% respond after a follow-up letter requesting the return of the questionnaire.
hunters provide the data and the project is run by the BASC
