Nature will always find a way as can be seen at this abandoned industrial environment where nature is gradually regaining its rights. Aware of the ecological richness of the area, Hunters Federation of Aisne has designed a project to manage this Cohayon Basin.

The project was supported by the Fondation Nationale pour la Protection des Habitats Français de la Faune Sauvage and by the General and Regional council. With regard to support of these organisation, it was possible to acquire 80 ha of the Cohayon basin.

Scientific research is done there supported by the CNRS Research Centre. Results are used to raise public awareness of similar areas and therefore the importance of preserving it.
