Chasseurs et zones humides: actions!Quend and Fort-Mahon
Description
There are two main groals: ensure the tranquility of the site and follow the birds presence on the site.
An other person is employed to control the predator populations (e.g. foxes).
There is an agreement with the ornithologic group from Picardy for a continuing scientific monitoring.
There is a volunteer guard employed by the hunting federation for the site surveillance.
Results
Over the years, the number of species found has continued to grow: they were initially sixty against more 200 currently. The site can have peaks over 2000 wintering birds. Northern Shoveler (Anas clypeata) particularly appreciate this site.
