The monitoring of deer populations using the “Ecological Change Indices” method is being implemented by the Hunters Federation of Eure-et-Loir throughout the department. This method consists of carrying out an accurate survey of biological measurements (weight, bone length, …) taken on caught game throughout the hunting season using sampling maps. These measurements allow to estimate whether or not the reception capacity of the environment is sufficient for the population in place.
