Title of the project

National Observation Network “Perdrix-Faisan

Description

The ONCFS/FNC/FDC/FDC “Partridge-Faisan” network is result of the gradual extension of the national grey partridge network to red-legged partridge (1988) and then to common pheasant (2000).

Its main objective is to provide managers of these species with an optimal technical environment by:

– the development of reliable monitoring tools,

– the centralization and in-depth analysis of local data collected for population management, allowing the study of population dynamics and its spatial and temporal variations,

– monitoring and analysis of the evolution of populations and their habitats in France.

The network currently operates mainly in the north-central part of France (except for occasional national surveys). An extension to the entire national territory is planned.
