Title of the project
Restoration and management of Domaine de Pachan wetlands in Gironde
Description
The Domaine de Pachan has a diversity of natural habitats that are very favourable to many bird species. The site is home to a rich and diverse fauna e.g. white stork (Ciconia ciconia), common spoonbill (Platalea leucorodia), pied avocet (Recurvirostra avosetta), common redshank (Tringa totanus), western osprey (Pandion haliaetus) etc. Hunters have undertaken major work to restore the environment. 3 ponds were created (15 ha) and by using earthworks permanent wetland was restored.

Results
As the result of above mentioned measures 125 waterbirds species were observed, including 30 nesting species and 10 probable nesting species. The common curlew (Numenius arquata) was present both during migration and wintering.
