Measures in favour of Wild Rabbit in the Côtes d’Armor

March 27, 2019 FACE

The Hunters Federation of Côtes d’Armor is working on habitat restoration for wild rabbit populations using appropriate management tools, such as population estimation, in particular by monitoring reintroductions into the department and sample analyses.

The Federation also offers hunting territories contracts. On the one hand, a “rabbit park” contract defining specifications for serious and sustainable restocking programmes. On the other hand, a “hunting reserve” contract defining the measures to be implemented.

It also encourages the territories to include conservation measures in their regulations through the establishment of a daily and annual quota, an early closure of hunting, and a supervision of ferret hunting, etc.
