Throughout the department, the Hunters’ Federation of Eure-et-Loir are implementing the monitoring of red deer populations using the “Ecological Change Indices” method.

This method consists of carrying out an accurate survey of biological measurements (eviscerated weight of calves, number of pregnant deer) taken on dead game throughout the hunting season using sampling maps. Additionally, night kilometric index is reported for index tracking.
