The Hunters Federation of Manche has signed an agreement with the “Conservatoire du Littoral” designating it as manager of grassland at the Avranches hospital. As part of ecological compensation measures after the Couesnon was dredged between 2011 and 2013, measures were taken to restore seven sites around the bay, including those near the hospital.

Already manager of the Sée wetlands since 1994 through the Foundation for the Protection of Wildlife Habitats, the Federation has been involved in the restoration of 5 ha of wet grasslands and 1 ha of reed beds near the hospital with the departmental waterfowl hunters’ association.

Thanks to these measures, 37 species have already been observed in the territory in 2017.
