Out of 32 management units representing more than 176,000 hectares, common pheasant is managed in its natural state. Up to now, the Hunters Federation of Eure-et-Loir has developed restocking measures based on pheasants from natural strains.

During a restocking period (on average 3 years), and until the population density is sufficient (counts and sampling), hunting is prohibited based on a zero hunting plan. After that, the hunting plan, or the Approved Game Management Plan, assigns for each territory of the management unit a harvest quota based on summer counts and sampling.
