Coordinated actions for small game conservation in Slovakia

The project is aimed to protect the newborn roe deer fawns and hare, pheasants and other life in grasslands, meadows, that are harvested in May/June.

The project provides a web application, where farmers, hunters and volunteers can cooperate. Farmers announce a few days ahead the harvesting of the grassed meadows, and hunters may prepare preventive measures, and include/invite volunteers to help them with the preventive counteractions. Drones with thermo cameras have also been tested and a certified company with flying gear is of hand to anyone interested.

The project has been established in 2017 and is online since 2018. During the last three seasons many entries have already been recorded by the application, and the public knowledge about the problem of the harvesting losses on wildlife was increased by massive PR in print and digital media, TV and radio.
